Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a shield-shaped embroidered device with a rounded base edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Ultramarine Blue border blazoned as follows: Argent, throughout an apple with a stem leaf and nine barrulets voiding the apple in chief Bronze, surmounting the apple a palm tree and sun voided to the field. Attached above the shield, a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Ultramarine Blue border inscribed "BROWARD COUNTY" in Ultramarine Blue letters. The device is 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
The apple with palm tree and sun is the school district's device.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia authorized 1 February 1988 was cancelled. The shoulder sleeve insignia for all Broward County Schools was authorized 1 November 2007.

Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height consisting of a shield blazoned: Quarterly Tenn and Sable a serpent coiled Argent. Attached below the shield a Silver scroll inscribed "COBRAS" in Orange letters.

Symbolism
Orange and black are the school's colors. The shield divided reflects the many aspects of the ROTC curriculum. The school mascot is the cobra.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved 1 February 1988.
