Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a blue circular embroidered device 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, the head of a bald eagle proper encompassed by a yellow designation band inscribed "SARASOTA MILITARY" above the eagle's head in white letters, and inscribed" ACADEMY" below the eagle's head in white letters.

Symbolism
Blue and yellow are the school colors. The bald eagle is the school's mascot and symbolizes dignity, bravery, and wisdom.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 25 May 2006.

Blazon

On a silver metal and epoxied shield shaped device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Per saltire Azure and Celeste, two swords in saltire Argent (Silver), points to chief, hilts extending outside of the shield, grip of the first, a chief embattled, four mullets encircling blades of the third.  Attached below the shield, a blue scroll inscribed “HONOR” in silver letters.
