Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a shield edged with a 1/16 inch (.16 cm) orange border, divided diagonally from upper left to lower right, blue over yellow, by a narrow orange band, a dark blue disc edged with a narrow orange border, bearing in chief nine rays radiating from behind an eagle rising from flames, issuing from base, all orange. Attached below the shield, a dark blue scroll edged with a narrow orange border and inscribed "B.E. MAYS HIGH SCHOOL" in orange, letters. The overall dimensions are 3 3/16 inches (8.10 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Blue and golden orange are the school's colors. The eagle is the school's mascot.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 9 September 1992.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield divided diagonally from upper left to lower right, yellow (left) light blue (right), bearing a blue disc with nine gold rays radiating to chief and surmounted by a gold phoenix issuant from gold flames. Attached below the shield, a light blue color scroll inscribed "RESURGENS" in gold letters.

Symbolism
The shield is divided into the colors associated with the school. The phoenix is symbolic of the city of Atlanta.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 18 April 1991.
