Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A disc 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter overall consisting of a inner white disc bearing an orange jaguar's head facing the front, detailed and fimbriated blue, teeth and eyes white, iris orange, pupil blue, encircled by a blue designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (. 32 cm) orange border inscribed "CEDAR SHOALS" at the top and "JAGUARS" at the bottom all in white letters. 

Symbolism
Royal blue and orange are the school colors.  Blue denotes loyalty, a great virtue the cadets have for their country and for each other.  Orange signifies endurance, a virtue the cadets possess that enables them to accomplish everything they do.  The jaguar is the school's mascot and illustrates strength and power in the face of danger.  The students identify with their mascot in their pursuit of academic as well as athletic achievements.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 19 November 1973.  It was amended to change the description and symbolism and new design on 23 June 2011.  (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-973)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  "Per bend Tenn and Azure, between a sword bendwise, point upwards, in chief a Georgia arch (dome) and in base a lamp of knowledge all Or." On a chief of the second, a crouching jaguar of the third.   Attached below the shield a Blue scroll inscribed "CEDAR SHOALS HIGH SCHOOL" in Gold letters.

Symbolism
