Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a disc divided per fess rayonn light blue over scarlet, a blue devil's head affront, horns and mouth white, pupils scarlet. Surrounding the disc, a white designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) light blue border and inscribed "ELBERT COUNTY" at top and "BLUE DEVILS" at bottom in light blue letters. The overall dimension is 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in diameter.

Symbolism
Light blue and white are the school's colors. The blue devil is the school's mascot.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 16 December 1992. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-288)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of an arched shield blazoned: Gules, a chief dancetty of three Argent, an axe and rifle in saltire Argent surmounted by a hammer palewise Azure. Attached below the shield, a Silver scroll inscribed "ELBERT COUNTY" in Blue letters.

Symbolism
The red portion of the dancetty suggests the red clay hills of Georgia and reflects the locale of the school. The rifle and axe denote the pioneers who settled the area and also reflect the cadet's heritage and military training. The hammer represents the area's granite quarry and finishing and shipping port.
