Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a blue arched rectangle, the lower third gold brown and issuant from there a black gear wheel with a silver Lamp of knowledge as the top cog, charged with a yellow disc edged silver, surmounted by a green tree. Attached above and below, a red scroll inscribed "EMANUEL COUNTY" in silver letters above and "SCHOOL DISTRICT" in silver letters below.

Symbolism
The device reflects the significant economic industries of the county. The gear represents the manufacturing industry, the sun and tree denote forestry, and the gold brown area alludes to a plowed field and the agricultural activities of the area. The Lamp of Knowledge rests above the industry symbols denoting the importance of education to the youth of the county. The colors of the device reflect the colors of both the county schools.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 15 April 1994.
