Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold pentagon edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border the overall dimensions 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height on which is a gold and black beveled five-pointed star below the inscription "FULTON COUNTY" in black letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 16 October 1981.

Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height and 1 inch (2.54 cm) in width, consisting of an ultramarine blue Greek key encircling an orange Spartan hoplite helmet and flanked by two laurel branches. Attached above, an Orange scroll inscribed "NORTH SPRINGS HIGH SCHOOL" and below, an Orange scroll inscribed "SPARTANS" in base metal letters.

Symbolism
Blue and orange are the school's colors. The Spartan Hoplite is the school's mascot. The Greek key motif is reminiscent of contributions of ancient Greek civilization which inspire the cadets'. The laurels symbolize championship. The word "SPARTANS" (pronounced "Spr-tans) means Spartans in Greek and is the name of the school's team.

The shoulder loop insignia was approved 31 January 2005.
