Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in diameter overall blue disc within a rope border and encircled by an annulet, a phoenix over seven rays to chief wings displayed white rising from a flame Proper marked by the year "1872" in black, arched above the phoenix, inside the rope border, to chief the inscription "LEADERSHIP" and arched below the phoenix, inside the rope border to base the inscription "CITIZENSHIP" in white letters. All edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) ultramarine blue border.

Symbolism
Blue and white are the school's colors. The phoenix is the school's mascot. The school's motto is "leadership, citizenship".

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 19 July 2006.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield divided diagonally from upper left to lower right, purple (left), blue/turquoise (right), bearing a blue disc with nine gold rays radiating to chief and surmounted by a gold phoenix issuant from gold flames. Attached below the shield, a blue/turquoise color scroll inscribed "RESURGENS" in gold letters.

Symbolism
The shield is divided into the colors associated with the school. The phoenix is symbolic of the city of Atlanta.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 13 March 1995.
