Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a red shield 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height, a white band between an Indian head in profile wearing a war bonnet in white trimmed in black and the white letters "BHS" all within a 1/4 inch (.64 cm) white border.

Symbolism
Black and red are the school colors. The Indian is the school mascot.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 10 October 1950.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel shield 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield divided per chevron yellow and red, overall a silver chevron, on the yellow an eagle with wings closed in dexter, and a lion rampant in sinister, and in base on the red an Indian's head affront couped at the neck, in full headdress all silver.

Symbolism
Red and black are the school colors. The Indian is the school mascot.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved 31 January 1977.
