Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a black shield with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) orange border, an orange tiger's paw with black details and white claws. Attached below the shield a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) orange border inscribed "TIGER BATTALION" in black letters. Overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Black and orange are the school colors. The tiger paw symbolizes the cadets' strength of character to school, community, and country.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 22 December 1995.

Description

A Gold color metal and epoxied shield shaped device, 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height, blazoned as follows: Or, a tigers head affront of the first, detailed Sable, garnished Argent; all within a diminutive border Tenn. Attached below the shield, a Black bi-parted scroll inscribed RICHLAND COUNTY in Gold letters.


Symbolism

Black and orange are the school colors. The tiger is the schools mascot. Black signifies the determination and dignity of the cadets. Orange symbolizes the ambition, endurance and strength which the cadets demonstrate in creating their own personal goals and achievements. White suggests maturity and truth, an attribute the students reflect in their manners and decisions.

The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 1 August 2016.
