Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a rectangle arched at top and bottom, 2 3/8 inches (6.03 cm) wide by 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height overall, a field blazoned: Celeste, three chevronels interlaced in chevron Vert, surmounted by a horse forcene Sable. All within a narrow border of the like. Attached above the rectangle, a Black scroll inscribed "LETCHER" in Green letters and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border. Attached below the rectangle, a Black scroll inscribed "COUNTY" in Green letters and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border.

Symbolism
The chevronels allude to the school's location in the mountains of Kentucky. The horse denotes Kentucky's famed horse industry and is representational of the cadets' dedication to support their school, community and country.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 9 April 2001.
