Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A maroon heater shield with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border with an attached maroon rectangular scroll above the shield edge white; on the shield issuing from base a white ram affront. On the scroll the inscription "BANGOR" in white letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height. The overall dimensions of shield and scroll 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 2 inches (5.08 cm) in width.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 3 December 1968.

Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall consisting of an arced shield blazoned: Sanguine a ram's head caboshed below a mullet Argent, on an arced chief of the like three pine trees Vert. Attached above the shield a Maroon scroll inscribed "18 BANGOR 61" in Silver letters. Attached below the shield a Maroon scroll inscribed "PRIDE COURAGE" in Silver letters.

Symbolism
Maroon and white are the school colors. The ram is the school mascot. The star alludes to achievement. The white pine trees are indicative of the school's location in a forested area.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 23 June 1989.
