Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a silver gray shield edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border a black hawk's head issuant from base detailed silver gray. Attached above the shield a silver gray scroll edged with a narrow black border and inscribed "HUMBOLDT" in orange letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Black and orange are the school colors. The hawk is the school mascot.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 31 May 1996.

Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Quarterly Argent and Tenn in second a hawk's head erased Sable, in third a mullet of the first and charged with a sword bendwise Black: within a scroll forming a square inscribed "HUMBOLDT" at top and "HIGH SCHOOL" at bottom in Black letters.

Symbolism
Orange and black are the school colors. The star alludes to the Minnesota state motto and reflects the school's location. The sword represents leadership and reflects the cadet's involvement in school, community, and country.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved 31 May 1996.
