Symbolism
Red, yellow and green are the school district's colors. The bridge represents the connection of the eight high school Junior ROTC programs coming together in one district. The blue wavy lines represent the State of Mississippi's most recognizable geographic feature, the Mississippi River. The Mississippi River represents the strength, character and ability to persevere that the district seeks to instill in all their cadets. Furthermore, the four arches of the bridge and the four wavy lines represent the eight high school Junior ROTC programs that are part of the Jackson Public School District.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 15 August 2006 for all High Schools in the Jackson Public School System.
