On a Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per bend sinister Azure and Or an aircraft engine affront Argent detailed Sable, the propeller of the third bendwise sinister throughout. Attached below the shield, a Silver Scroll inscribed "SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS" in Blue letters. Attached above the shield, a Silver scroll inscribed "TRADITION" in Blue letters.
Blue and gold are the school colors. The silver prop and engine cowling are that of the "Spirit of St. Louis" airplane of Charles Lindbergh, suggesting the skill, determination and courage of the cadets.
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 3 October 1997.
