Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a yellow vertical rectangle shaped embroidered device 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width, arched convexly at the top and bottom with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, an orange Tiger's head detailed black facing forward, claws extended over black railroad tracks. Attached above the Tiger, a yellow scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border and inscribed "LEADERSHIP" in black letters. Attached below the Tiger, a yellow scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border and inscribed "SMITH-COTTON" in black letters.

Symbolism
Black and gold are the school's colors. The Tiger is the school's mascot. The railroad track symbolizes the Katy Trail-Depot, for which Sedalia owes its existence and prosperity.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 3 February 2005.

Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height and 1 3/32 inches (2.78 cm) in width consisting of three trains black, two addorsed and erased by the third facing front, charged with a Tiger's head recessed, modeled and filled transparent gold. Attached below, a black scroll inscribed "SMITH-COTTON HIGH SCHOOL" in base metal letters, all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) gold border.

Symbolism
Black and gold are the school's colors. The passenger trains symbolize the Katy Trail-Depot, and the beginnings of Sedalia and prosperity. The gold track is representative of the spirit to move forward and gain knowledge. The Tiger is the school's mascot.
