Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a blue disc a white horizontal mountain range of three peaks throughout; within a white circular designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border and inscribed "FLATHEAD" above and "HIGH SCHOOL" below in black letters. Overall and between the designation an orange horizontal lance head to sinister shaded black and pendant of two feathers orange shaded blue.

Symbolism
Black, orange and white are the school colors. The lance represents the Native American heritage of the region. The mountains indicate the geography of the Kalispell area, where the school is located. The blue area above the mountains suggests the "Big Sky Country" of Montana. The blue area below the mountains suggests Flathead Lake, a local landmark in the county. The circular shape of the shoulder sleeve insignia symbolizes the unity of the cadet battalion, the high school and the community, which it serves.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 5 May 1998.
