Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a white shield edged with a narrow red border a white knight in armor detailed and plumed red, grasping in his right hand a white broad sword and in his left hand a white shield. Attached above a red arced scroll inscribed "DELSEA" in white letters and below a red scroll inscribed "CRUSADERS" in white letters; all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border. The overall dimensions are 3 13/16 inches (9.68 cm) in height by 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Red and white are the school colors. Red represents valor and white represents truth. The crusader-knight epitomizes those ideals and the Delsea cadets strive to maintain those values.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 25 July 1997. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-558)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a silver metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inch (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Argent on a cross Gules a standing Crusader affront base metal.  Attached below the shield, a Red segmented scroll inscribed "D.R." on the dexter segment, "CRUSADERS" on the center segment, and "H.S." on the sinister segment, all letters Silver.

Symbolism
Red and white are the school colors.  The crusader is the school's mascot and reflects a reverence for honored traditions and an adventurous spirit.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 7 January 2011.
