Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a gray disc an orange tiger head garnished white, detailed blue and langued red, environed by a gray designation band fimbriated blue and inscribed in blue letters "LOS LUNAS" above and "HIGH SCHOOL" below all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) orange border. The overall size is 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter.

Symbolism
Blue, orange and white are the school colors. The tiger is the school mascot and symbolizes strength, endurance and intelligence.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 8 May 1997.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per fess enhanced Azure and Tenn issuant from base a staircase supporting six columns, in chief a heraldic tiger passant guardant Argent. Attached below a Silver scroll inscribed "AD ASTRA PER ASPERA" in Blue letters.

Symbolism
Blue, orange and white are the school colors. The tiger is the school mascot. The six columns represent trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship, the school's six "values of character." The staircase indicates the cadets' desire to achieve those values. The Latin phrase "AD ASTRA PER ASPERA" translated to "To the Stars Through Difficulties."
