Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold geometric shaped embroidered device displaying a medieval knight in silver gray armor with a black plume on the helmet. The knight is sitting on a white horse holding a black shield in the left hand. In the knight's right hand is a black lance. The horse's bridle and padded coat are black. Above the knight and horse is the inscription "UNIONDALE" in black block letters. The entire device is edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border. The overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width and 2 3/8 inches (6.023 cm) in height.

Symbolism
Black and gold are the school's colors. The Knight is the school's mascot and symbolizes courage, wisdom, perseverance, and the Cadets' fierce winning spirit.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 7 February 2008.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Or, a Chevalier reversed grasping a lance in the dexter hand and a shield in the sinister, all of the like. Attached below the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "KNIGHTS" in gold letters.

Symbolism
Black and gold are the school's colors. The Knight is the school's mascot.
