Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A green circular device edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, the overall diameter 3 inches (7.62 cm), on which issuing from base is a yellow demi-torch enflamed surmounted by a white rocket ascending vertically with red vapor trail extending to base with a pattern of white smoke, the entire within an arced inscription "REYNOLDS" arced on the viewer's left and "ROCKETS" arced on the viewer's right, all in yellow letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Symbolism
Green and gold (yellow) are the colors of the school. The demi-torch enflamed alludes to military training in the JROTC program and to academic endeavors. It also reflects the mission of enlightenment of the school. The rocket ascending is indicative of the nickname of the school. It further alludes to the lofty goals of the school personnel in academic, athletic, and military endeavors.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 8 November 1980.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield divided per chevron reversed green and gold, in chief a gold winged torch enflamed red above in base a green balance scale; attached below the shield a green scroll inscribed "REYNOLDS" in gold letters.

Symbolism
Green and gold (yellow) are the school colors. The winged torch alludes to military training and academic endeavors. The scale symbolizes a balanced curriculum.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 27 November 1984.
