A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per fess Gules and Sable, in chief a chevron bowed between in dexter an open book and in sinister a lamp enflamed, all Argent and in base a Spartan's helmet of the last, with feathers of the first. Below the shield is a Black scroll inscribed "SPARTANS LEAD THE WAY" in base metal letters.
Red, black, and silver are the school's colors. Red symbolizes the patriotism the cadets have for their school and country. Black signifies the determination to succeed in all endeavors. Silver represents the courage to act responsibly and possess uncompromising integrity. The Spartan is the school's mascot and reflects the strength, courage and bravery of the cadets and their motivation to achieve. The lamp of knowledge symbolizes the partnership of academic instruction provided by the school and the pursuit of knowledge by the cadets. The chevron is for protection toward our country. The book represents the values of personal honesty, intellectual curiosity, and social responsibility of the cadets.
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 27 May 2011.
