Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a yellow vertical rectangle arched at top and bottom, 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, a tiger's head facing the viewer yellow, black and white with a growling facial expression. Arched above the tiger's head, a black scroll with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed "JAMES" in yellow letters. Arched below the tiger's head, a black scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed "KENAN" in yellow letters.

Symbolism
Black and gold are the school colors. The tiger is the school mascot and represents fierceness and valor.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 19 March 2003.

Blazon

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Or, a bend Sable, overall a lion in trian aspect, its front sinister paw outstretched, Proper. Attached to the sides of the shield, a gold scroll inscribed “TIGER PRIDE” in black letters.


Symbolism

Gold and black are the school colors. Gold suggests excellence and black represents determination. The bend alludes to a path towards educational enlightenment. The tiger is the school’s mascot, which embodies strength and courage. The motto “TIGER PRIDE” refers to the proud nature of the tiger and the self-confidence acquired in the Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps.
