Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A shield shaped embroidered device with a scroll attached above the shield all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, the overall dimensions 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width; on a red shield fimbriated silver, a Peregrine Falcon proper; on a silver scroll the inscription "SOUTH CENTRAL" in black letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Symbolism
The school colors are cardinal red, silver, black, and white. The Falcon is the school mascot.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 8 November 2007.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Gules, an eight pointed mullet Sable fimbriated Silver Gray, between two falcons respectant in flight of the second, fimbriated the same. Attached below the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "HONOR & STRENGTH" in base metal letters.

Symbolism
Cardinal red, silver, black, and white are the school colors. The falcon is representational of strength. The red field symbolizes the blood shed to afford liberty and education through honor. Silver symbolizes wisdom. Black signifies knowledge. White alludes to the future bestowed upon the cadets.
