Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
An embroidered device consisting of a purple rectangular arched convexly at the top and bottom; enclosed in a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) purple border and displaying the head of a cougar in gold. The cougar's tongue and gums are red, the teeth and highlights of the eyes are white; details and fimbriation are purple. Above the cougar's head is the inscription "THURGOOD" in white letters, and below the cougar's head is the inscription "MARSHALL" in white letters. Overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Purple and gold are the school's colors. The school's mascot is the cougar and represents courage, loyalty, vigilance, and the Cadets' fierce winning spirit.

Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Tierced in pairle reversed Gules, Azure, and Vert, in chief a torch flamant Or and balance scales of the like and in base a mortarboard and diploma of the last. Below the shield, a Purple triparted scroll inscribed ""RELEVANCE" "RIGOR" "RELATIONSHIPS" in base metal letters.

Symbolism
Purple and gold are the school's colors. The torch, balance scales, mortarboard, and diploma represents courage, loyalty, vigilance, and the Cadets' fierce winning spirit.
