Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a shield edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border divided per fess dancetty of three Gules and Argent, in base the head of a cardinal bird erased Proper. Attached above the shield a Red scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border and inscribed "EAST CENTRAL" in White letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 5/16 inches (5.87 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Red, white and black are the school colors. The cardinal is the school mascot. The cardinal is a year round resident of the area reflecting the cadets' dedication to school, home and community.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 18 March 1999.
