Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
A maroon disc within a silver gray scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) maroon border oppressing the disc in base horizontally and bearing the inscription "BEAVER AREA H.S." arcing above in maroon letters. Surmounting in base a gray four cornered fort shaded maroon viewed from above in perspective. Overall a maroon arrow point up conjoining its' head with the first letter "A" in the word "AREA". The overall dimensions are 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width by 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm) in height.
Maroon and gray are the school colors and stand for tradition and honor. The fortification depicts Fort McIntosh, a historical frontier outpost, indigenous to the area. The arrow indicates its value as protection against the warring Native Americans. The designation band symbolizes the Ohio River and the geographic locale. The "A" interlocked with the arrow point indicates the desire of the cadets to be number one and uphold their historical nickname as "1st American Regiment.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 3 February 1997.
Shoulder Loop Insignia
A Silver color metal and enamel device 11/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per bend Sanguine and Gray, in sinister chief a bobcat face Argent, in dexter base a parchment scroll and quill pen in saltire of the third. Attached below the shield a Maroon scroll inscribed "BEAVER AREA" in Silver letters.
Maroon and gray are the school colors. The bobcat was once indigenous to Western Pennsylvania and is the school mascot. The quill and scroll are symbolic of the education the cadets receive.
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 12 September 1996.
