Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A maroon keystone shaped embroidered device, 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in width, charged with a cannon and a stack of cannon balls proper, all within a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) maroon border. Above the cannon, the inscription "GETTYSBURG" in white letters 5/16 inch (0.79 cm) in height. Below the cannon, the inscription "HIGH SCHOOL" in white letters 5/16 inch in height.

Symbolism
Maroon and white are the school's colors. The cannon and shot pile are representative of the Gettysburg battlefield and the historical significance to the area.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 12 January 2006.

Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel shield shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, blazoned: "Per pale Argent and Gules, a wagon wheel divided the same, overall chevronwise a stack of six cannon balls Sable and two cannons buttons to base. Attached above the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "GETTYSBURG" in base metal letters. Attached below the shield, a Black scroll inscribed "DEEDS NOT WORDS" in base metal letters.

Symbolism
Maroon and white are the school's colors. The cannon parts are representative of the Gettysburg battlefield and the historical significance to the area.

The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 12 January 2006.
