Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a gray disc with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter overall, a yellow keystone bearing a red and black cardinal all within the inscription "PINE GROVE AREA HIGH SCHOOL" in red letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Symbolism
The school colors are red and gray and the cardinal is the school mascot.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 11 March 1986.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A silver color, metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height and width, consisting of a base-metal keystone shape displaying the partial image of a stylized scarlet cardinal with black "mask" facing left and overlaid with a black, flaming torch. Inscribed above the black letters in the notch of the keystone the words "CARDINALS". Attached below the keystone a scarlet, double-arched scroll inscribed "PINE GROVE AREA HIGH SCHOOL" in base-metal letters.

Symbolism
Cardinal red and gray are the school colors. The keystone is the state symbol. The cardinal is a century old mascot for the school overlaid by the torch of knowledge. These images symbolize the regard the cadets have for their school, community and state, their traditions and the education they are receiving.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 13 March 2003.
