Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a white horizontal rectangle with arced sides and a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border, 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in height and 2 13/16 inches (7.14 cm) in width overall, a red horse's head detailed dark red issuing from dexter between the inscription "BARNWELL" above and "WARHORSES" below in red letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Symbolism
Red and white are the school colors. The motto, "Warhorses," refers to the school's mascot.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 4 June 1991.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Gules a bend Sable between a horse's head couped Argent and a lamp of knowledge flamant of the like. Attached above the shield a red scroll inscribed "BARNWELL" in Silver letters.

Symbolism
Red and white are the school colors. The horse's head suggests the school's mascot, the "Warhorse." The lamp of knowledge alludes to the scholastic endeavors of the JROTC program.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved 5 August 1987.
