Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a white shield with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border, a blue bulldog garnished white and scarlet grasping in his dexter paw a scarlet sword and resting on a black arced and embattled wall issuing from base and bearing a white escutcheon charged with a blue scroll. Attached above the shield a blue scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border and inscribed "BULLDOGS" in white letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 1/4 inches (8.26 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Blue, black, and white are the school colors. The bulldog is the school mascot. The wall represents the leadership skills on which the JROTC program is built. The scroll reflects the academic pursuits of the cadets. The sword suggests military training.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 18 September 1990.
