Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a yellow disc with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, 3 inches (7.62 cm) in diameter overall, a black and yellow wildcat's head between the inscription "DILLON" above and "WILDCATS" below in black letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Symbolism
Gold (yellow) and black are the school colors and the mascot and team name is "Wildcats."

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 8 December 1986. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-36)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height consisting of a disc divided horizontally gold over buff, bearing a wildcat's face between its forepaws above a vertical railroad track issuing from base in perspective, flanked parallel on each side by three gold bars. Attached below the disc, a black scroll reversed gold inscribed "WILDCATS" in gold letters, the ends supporting the hilts of two upright black swords which overlap the edges of the disc.

Symbolism
Black and gold are the school's colors. The wildcat is the school's mascot. The railroad tracks allude to J.W. Dillon, the town's namesake and a prominent citizen in establishing a railroad in the local area. The pallets symbolize rows of grain which are indigenous to the area.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 21 September 1992.
