Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a shield shaped embroidered device 3 1/8 inches (7.94 cm) in height by 2 7/8 inches (7.30 cm) in width, blazoned as follows: Or, between and above two crossed cutlasses in saltire points to chief Argent, hilted and detailed Azure, the head of a Raider affront of the second, hat, beard and details of the third. Arched in chief, is the inscription"W.J. KEENAN H.S." also Azure, all within a diminished bordure of the last.

Symbolism
Blue and gold are the school's colors. The shield shaped insignia is actually reminiscent of the shape of an eye patch. The Raider (school mascot) and crossed cutlasses recall the areas historical tradition and spirit.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 17 July 2007.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in width overall, blazoned as follows: Azure, behind an open treasure chest a stylized Raider with arms crossed, the shield supported by Palmetto trees and arching below a Blue scroll inscribed "RAIDER BATTALION" in base metal letters.

Symbolism
Blue and gold are the school's colors. The Raider recalls the areas historical traditions and spirit. The Palmetto is the State tree.

The shoulder loop insignia was approved 17 July 2007.
