Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A shield-shaped device with an arced scroll attached above the shield, all edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border, the overall dimensions 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width, consisting of an orange shield charged with a Lamp of Knowledge enflamed surmounting a wreath enveloping the head of a pioneer in profile, garbed in a coonskin cap, all white. On an orange arced scroll the inscription "EAST RIDGE" in white letters 1/4 inch (.64 cm) in height.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized on 1 September 1978 it was amended to add subdued colors and metric measurements on 19 September 1991. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-195)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of an orange enamel shield bearing the upper torso of a pioneer, face in profile, garbed in buckskin and coonskin cap, surmounted in base by a Lamp of Knowledge enflamed. Attached below the shield a silver scroll inscribed "PIONEERS" in black letters.

Symbolism
Orange and white are the colors of East Ridge High School. The figure of the pioneer is indicative of the motto of the school. The Lamp of Knowledge enflamed is representative of learning.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 1 September 1978.
