Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description/Blazon
On a light blue disc a bald eagle's head proper all encircled by a white designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) light blue border and inscribed in black letters "GIBBS" above and "HIGH SCHOOL" below.

Symbolism
Blue and gold are the school colors. The bald eagle is the school's mascot.

Description
A Gold color metal and epoxied device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall, consisting of a shield blazoned as follows: Quarterly Celeste and Argent, in the first quarter, an unfurled scroll surmounted by a quill pen bend sinisterwise; in the second quarter, an olive branch superimposed by a winged foot bendwise, toes to sinister; in the third quarter, a lyre and in the fourth quarter, in front of an atomic symbol, a torch; all Or. Attached above the shield a Black scroll inscribed EAGLES in Gold.  Attached below the shield a Black tri-parted scroll inscribed GIBBS in Gold letters.

Symbolism
Columbia blue, black and white are the school colors. The eagle is the schools mascot. The scroll and quill pen represent the schools academic excellence in the core subjects language arts and mathematics. The olive branch and winged foot exemplify good sportsmanship, solid character and student unity. The lyre conveys fine arts, music, drama and visual arts, important aspects of the schools overall curriculum. The atomic symbol and the torch illustrate science and the advancement of technology.
