Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a black disk edged with a gold 1/8 inch (.32 cm) border, the overall diameter 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm), a gold tree superimposed by a white open book with pages edged gold charged with a blue lion's head and bulldog's head detailed white and facing right. Within the inscription "A. J. MOORE" around the top and "ACADEMY" around the bottom all in gold letters.

Symbolism
Black, white and dark blue are the school colors; gold is emblematic of excellence and high achievement. The tree and book symbolize growth, knowledge and the guidance A. J. Moore Academy has given the young people of Waco for over 90 years. The lion and bulldog are based on the school's historic mascots.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 5 January 2001.

Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, consisting of a gold lion's and bulldog's head addorsed on a blue square, above a white open book all superimposed by a gold tree, overall at top a black scroll inscribed "LIONHEARTED" and at bottom a black scroll inscribed "BULLDOGS" all in gold letters.
