Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
An embroidered device consisting of a horizontal oval 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in width and 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in height divided diagonally from upper right to lower left. The upper half purple, the lower half yellow; the entire oval edged with an 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, a white stylized head of a Wildcat in profile to the right and inscribed in an arc above "CARRIZO SPRINGS" and arcing below "WILDCATS" in white letters.

Symbolism
Gold and purple are the school colors. The wildcat is the school mascot.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 29 June 2004.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Per pale the sinister per fess Azure, Argent, and Gules, in dexter and issuing from dexter a demi-mullet of the second, in sinister chief a lamp of knowledge Proper, in sinister base a torch of knowledge enflamed palewise surmounting the entwined stems of two arched laurel branches Or. Attached below the shield, a Scarlet scroll inscribed "ERUDITIO INDUCO-ARE" flanked by two stars in Silver base metal letters.

Symbolism
Red, white, and blue are the Texas State colors. The star is an element of the state flag. "ERUDITIO INDUCO-ARE" is the school motto, which in English means "Learned to Lead." The lamp of knowledge, as well as the torch of knowledge are scholastic symbols.

The shoulder loop insignia was approved 20 March 2007.
