Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A shield-shaped device with scroll attached below, 3 5/8 inches (9.21 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width at its widest point, consisting of a shield divided vertically into two equal halves, blue to dexter, and white to sinister on a green chief, a white disc bearing a white and yellow compass, the shield edged and fimbriated with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow fimbriation. Attached below the shield, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border and inscribed "MACARTHUR" in blue letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia originally authorized 10 June 1969, was amended 15 March 1991 to add subdued colors and metric dimensions. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-192)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height consisting of a shield blazoned: Per pale Azure and Argent, on a chief Vert a plate charged with a compass Or detailed of the second. Attached below the shield, a Gold scroll inscribed "MACARTHUR" in Blue letters.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 10 January 1992.
