Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a white vertical rectangle arced convexly at the top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, the profile of a tiger. Attached above the rectangle, a yellow scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed "MANSFIELD" in black letters. Attached below the rectangle, a yellow scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed "TIGERS" in black letters. The overall dimensions are 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width by 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height.

Symbolism
Black and gold are the school's colors. The tiger is the school's mascot and is symbolic of the cadets' fierce, winning spirit.

The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 2 September 2005.

Description

On a shield shaped gold metal and epoxied device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height blazoned as follows: Argent, a fess dancette of two pieces Sable, overall a demi-tiger springing forward Or. Attached below the shield, a Black scroll inscribed with WHERE EVERY STORY MATTERS, all in Gold.


Symbolism
Black and gold are the school colors. The jagged black bar suggests the letter M, the symbolizing first letter of Mansfield High School. The schools mascot is the tiger, representing resolution and tenacity, demonstrated by the Mansfields cadets in their accomplishments in academics, sports and the ROTC activities.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized on 8 June 2018.
