Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
On a scarlet shield edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border a yellow spur with white five-pointed rowel. Attached below the shield a yellow scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border inscribed "FT WORTH ISD" in scarlet letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 3 3/16 inches (8.10 cm) in width.
The shield is indicative of community and reflects the cadets' involvement in civic activities and community pride. The spur reflects the school district of Fort Worth as a city "where the West begins." It also represents the ROTC program of fostering leadership and dedication. The spur rowel in the shape of a star symbolizes the State of Texas and the academic achievement of the cadets.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 13 December 1993. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-320)
Shoulder Loop Insignia
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Argent a wildcat face Azure, garnished armed and langued of the first, eyes and mouth Sable. Surmounting in base a Silver scroll inscribed "IT CAN BE DONE" in Blue letters.
Blue and white (silver) are the schools colors. The wildcat is the school mascot. The aggressive spirit of the wildcat denotes the cadets' dedication to country, community, and school.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 19 January 1995.
