Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a white embroidered device consisting of a vertical rectangle 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border, divided into four quarters of which the top left is white inscribed with a black "S", the bottom left is white inscribed with a black "R", the top right is ultramarine blue and the bottom left scarlet, overall a white star. Attached above the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed "SAM RAYBURN" in black letters. Attached below the rectangle, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) black border inscribed "TEXANS" in black letters.

Symbolism
Red, blue and white are the State colors of Texas, which bears a white star. The school's athletic teams are called the Texans. The school was named after Sam Rayburn, a famous Texan Statesman.

Description/Blazon
On a silver color metal and enamel disc 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, a silver shape of Texas with a bluebird colored star in the right middle and "TEXANS" inscribed in black letters starting from the bluebird colored background angling upward diagonally onto the Texas shape. Attached around and arching within the bluebird colored outer ring inscribed "SAM RAYBURN HIGH SCHOOL" and "PASADENA ISD TEXAS" separated by two silver stars in base metal letters.

Symbolism
Bluebird (Columbian Blue) and white are the school's colors. The school's mascot, the Texan, symbolizes strength and power. The school seal features the map of Texas and the star representing the location of Sam Rayburn High School. The star is on the flag of Texas.
