Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A blue shield edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border surmounted with a white escutcheon with a narrow red fleury border and charged with a blue bagpipe bearing a white shield charged with a blue mountain range fesswise. Attached above and below the shield, white scrolls edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) red border and inscribed "SCOTS" above and "BEN LOMOND" below in blue letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width.

Symbolism
The school colors, red, blue and white, reflect the royal plaid colors of Scotland. The school was named for a mountain peak near the school's location. The bagpipe with shield and mountain range reflect the Scottish name of the school and the bagpipe in Scottish military history.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved 26 December 1991.
