A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall with a shield blazoned: Azure, an inescutcheon quarterly Argent, Tenn and of the first, in the first and fourth quarter a torch of knowledge, in second and third quarter a tiger's paw, all Or, all above two laurel branches, in saltire at stem's base of the last. Superimposed at the left and right of the shield two stylized Orange Tiger's head erased and facing out, surmounting a Gold scroll attached at base inscribed "BASSET HS" in Blue letters. Attached above the shield, a Gold scroll inscribed "TIGERS" in Blue letters.
Blue, orange and white are the school colors. Orange is symbolic of the courage of the cadets as leaders in the school and the community and blue signifies the determination to succeed in all endeavors, white is symbolic of purity and truth and signifies pride and strength. The Tiger is the school's mascot and reflects the pride, honor and loyalty of the cadets' military training. The stars are symbolic of their bright futures and the paw prints represent the mark the cadets make as responsible members of the cadre.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 19 March 2013.
