Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a white vertical rectangle arched at top and bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border. The blue and white bust of a cavalier between the inscription "CARROLL" above "COUNTY" in blue letters at top and "CAVALIERS" in base in blue letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Blue and white are the school colors. The cavalier is the school mascot.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 15 April 1996. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-463)

Description/Blazon
A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure, an open book Argent between in chief two swords in saltire points downward of the last. Above the shield and between the swords, the head and shoulders of a Cavalier in Silver looking toward dexter and wearing a Navy Blue hat. Attached below the shield, a Blue scroll inscribed "CARROLL COUNTY" in base metal letters.

Symbolism
Navy blue and silver are the school's colors. The Cavalier, the school's mascot, symbolizes intelligence, valor, strength, and fortitude. The open book represents the book of knowledge. The swords allude to justice and honor.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 3 September 2008.
