Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On shield tierced in pairle white, blue, and red and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, a white torch fimbriated, garnished and flamant yellow between, to dexter, the mask of tragedy and to sinister the mask of comedy counterchanged of the field and garnished yellow. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height by 2 1/4 inches (5.72 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Red, white, and blue are the school colors. The torch represents the source of enlightenment, inspiration and knowledge for the cadets. The masks allude to the arts, the school's major academic focus.

Description/Blazon
On a gold scroll-shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in width, a scarlet bulldog rampant and gorged with a white crown respectant with a blue griffin rampant and grasping between them a white lyre.

Symbolism
Red, white, and blue are the school colors. The bulldog is the school's mascot. The griffin represents determination and vigilance. The crown, lyre and scroll are associated symbols of the arts, the major academic focus of the school.

The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 10 March 1994.
