Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
A white vertical ellipse edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border bearing eight bendwise red stripes overlaid at the upper left by a blue demi-diamond all surmounted in base with a white eagle's head detailed blue all within a white designation band edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) white border and inscribed "THOMAS A. EDISON HIGH SCHOOL" in blue letters arching above and "EAGLES" in red letters arcing below between two blue stars. The overall dimensions are 3 5/16 inches (8.41 cm) in height by 3 1/8 inches (7.94 cm) in width.
Red, white and blue are the school colors. The eagle is the school mascot and combined with the United States flag like pattern reflects the cadets' pride in school, community and country.
The shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 11 October 1996.
Shoulder Loop Insignia
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a blue lozenge surmounted by a blue vertical ellipse fimbriated silver bearing a silver eagle head detailed blue all above and between two silver rapiers with white hilts points down in saltire at the tips. Attached below a red scroll inscribed "THOMAS A. EDISON" in silver letters.
Red, white and blue are the school colors. The eagle is the school mascot. The crossed rapiers reflect the cadets' pride and willingness to defend their school, community and country.
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved on 11 October 1996 and amended to revise the description on 19 December 1997.
