Shoulder Sleeve Insignia
A blue rectangular insignia with a blue arced scroll attached above and below, all edged with a 1/8 (.32 cm) yellow border, the overall dimensions 3 5/8 inches (9.21 cm) in height and 2 1/2 inches (6.35 cm) in width; on the rectangle an heraldic representation of the head and neck of two yellow chicken hawks back to back, with red tongues, above a yellow mountain range. On the top scroll the inscription "CHARLOTTE" and on the bottom scroll "AMALIE" in yellow letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.
The shoulder sleeve insignia originally authorized 28 November 1979, was amended 19 January 1990, to add subdued colors and metric dimensions. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-164)
Shoulder Loop Insignia
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a blue shield bearing a chicken hawk poised in flight grasping in the dexter claw an olive branch and in its sinister claw three arrows, all gold. Attached below the shield a gold arced scroll inscribed "TO EXCEL ALWAYS" in blue letters.
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 28 November 1979.
