On a rectangular shaped embroidered device arched at top and bottom edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border blazoned as follows: Quartered Gules and Argent by a fess Sable and sword point to base, blade and guard Or, hilted of the third, in the first a unfurled scroll surmounted by a quill pen point to dexter base all of the second, in the second a silhouetted lamp inflamed of the third, in the third a silhouetted torch inflamed and conjoined with five rings three and two all of the last, in the fourth a sword point to base conjoined with scales of the third, surmounting the first sword a torteau fimbriated Black charged with two hands grasping each other White. Attached above the shield a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border inscribed "JOHN HARDIN" in Black letters. Attached below shield a White scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Black border inscribed "HIGH SCHOOL" in Black letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width.
The school colors are black, white and red. The first sword signifies duty and honor. The scroll with quill pen symbolizes wisdom through studies. The lamp symbolizes knowledge. The torch with five rings signifies enlightenment and athletics. The second sword conjoined with the scales represents swift justice with balance. The handshake on the disc symbolizes leadership, teamwork, service to community, and cooperation.
