Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a shield shaped embroidered device edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) silver gray border, divided horizontally the division line wavy 3/4 inch (1.91 cm) of the shield scarlet below, the upper section silver gray, a stylized head of a black bronco couped and in base two silver gray crossed sabers, points up, overall center two silver gray scrolls.  The first scroll inscribed "LEGACY H.S." and the second scroll inscribed "BRONCOS" all in black letters.  The overall dimensions are 3 5/16 inches (8.41 cm) in height by 3 1/8 inches (7.94 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Red and black are the school colors.  The Bronco is the school's mascot and describes the cadet's school spirit and strength.  The Bronco also symbolizes the grounds where the school was built in remembrance of the Kow Bell Rodeo.  The crossed sabers represent discipline and unity. 

Background

The shoulder sleeve insignia (SSI) originally authorized on 19 March 2010, it is currently being updated to add the ACU color conversions on 19 October 2017. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-907)
