Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a Silver metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inch (2.86 cm) in height consisting of a shield blazoned: on a torch enflamed a Thunderbird Azure, beak Gules wings displayed of the like.  Attached above the shield a Blue arched scroll inscribed "EAST" in Silver letters.  Attached below the shield a Blue arched scroll inscribed "THUNDERBIRDS" in Sliver letters.   

Symbolism
Red and Columbia Blue are the school colors. The Thunderbird is the school's mascot and recalls the local historical culture and folklore.  The torch promotes the ideals of a well rounded education experience, pride in school traditions and responsibility to community.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was approved on 31 March 2010.
